Today, due to the rapid expansion of science, establishing research centers is important both in terms of positively influencing this process and in terms of resolving society's health and treatment problems, and has been raised as a need at the level of Iranian medical universities.Kerman University of Medical Sciences, due to its long history and significant research record, was no exception to this rule. On February 17, 2008, by divine grace and with the favorable opinion of the respected officials of the university and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the Kerman Faculty of Dentistry was given the in-principle approval to establish the Oral and Dental Diseases Research Center. On September 18, 2011, it also received its final approval It is hoped that the efforts of our dear colleagues and researchers in this center will improve the oral health situation in the province and further progress and development of our beloved country.

The mission of the Oral and Dental Diseases Research Center of Kerman University of Medical Sciences is to develop research activities in the next five years to have the following characteristics:

- Production and registration of scientific articles in reputable databases in the country and the world

- Effective cooperation with international scientific research centers and the World Health Organization

- Authority in providing research in the field of dentistry in the country

- Competing at the regional and national levels

Finally, I announce that as the head of the research center, I will devote all my efforts and efforts to creating a suitable and scientific environment for my dear researchers, and I hope that the excellent efforts of these dear ones will be effective in improving the status of the center's research.
